#WCW: Chloe X Halle

Chloe x Halle is an American contemporary R&B duo composed of sisters- Chloe and Halle Bailey.

I first saw the duo in ‘Grown-ish‘. Grown-ish is an American sitcom series and a spin-off of the Black-ish series.

You guys! I love Grown-ish so much, I can’t even explain. It’s a series that Focuses on Zoey Johnson (Yara shahidi) as she goes to college, and her whole journey into adulthood and fashion. It’s a series I find really relatable.

Chloe Bailey plays ‘Jazlyn Forster’ in the series, while Halle plays ‘Skylar Forster’, and they are really amazing actresses.

They were born in Atlanta, Georgia, but were raised in Los Angeles, California.

Their musical career started when they launched their YouTube channel at the ages of 13 and 11 respectively, with a cover of Beyonce’s ‘Best Thing I Never Had’.

Their rendition of ‘Pretty Hurts’ by Beyonce then went viral, and drew the attention of the singer herself , and in 2015, she signed the sister duo to her management company ‘Parkwood Entertainment’.

Most recently (July 2019) Disney announced that Halle Bailey had been cast as Ariel, in the upcoming live-action remake of ‘The Little Mermaid‘. The week this was announced, social media was literally on fire!

Halle as the little mermaid

As much as black girls fully supported and praised Disney for that, seeing as it was a major black girl magic moment. There were others who simply could not accept the idea of a black girl playing the role of Ariel.

We all have our fingers crossed and can’t wait to see the movie!

Chloe x Halle: Their Style

If you watch the Grown-ish series, you’d see that both Jazlyn and Skylar are usually styled casual, sassy, and chic. But, when they are not on set, their style is pretty versatile and worthy of attention.
